BURBANK, Calif., July 7 (UPI) -- "Access Hollywood" will be the first U.S. entertainment news program to broadcast from China when it covers the 2008 Summer Olympics Games, NBC said Monday.
Co-anchor Billy Bush, who covered the 2004 Olympic Summer Games in Athens, Greece, and the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy, has been named co-host of "Access Hollywood's" unprecedented coverage of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, alongside weekend co-anchor and correspondent Shaun Robinson, the network said.
"During NBC's coverage of the Olympics, the athletes truly are the stars of prime-time television," "Access Hollywood" Executive Producer Rob K. Silverstein said in a statement. "NBC will show you their medal-worthy performances, while 'Access Hollywood' will bring you their unforgettable behind-the-scenes moments."
"Access Hollywood's" on-air coverage is to begin Aug. 4 and run through Aug. 22.
The show will feature behind-the-scenes moments and exclusive interviews with the stars of the Summer Games, both athletes and celebrities alike, NBC said.
