Twiggy's daughter follows in her footsteps

LONDON, July 5 (UPI) -- Famed British model Twiggy says she is excited she finally convinced her 29-year-old daughter to join her in the fashion industry.

The model, whose thin build won her great success during the 1960s, said her daughter Carly will help model her designs for the home shopping company Littlewoods Direct, the Daily Mail reported Friday.

"Carly and I have always wanted to work together, so it will be fun," said Twiggy, whose full married name is Twiggy Lawson.

Carly initially resisted following her famous mother's fashion footsteps and chose to study animation. Eventually she capitulated to her mother's requests and served as a print designer for British fashion guru Stella McCartney.

The Mail said the collection showing will mark the first modeling assignment for Carly, whose father was the late U.S. actor Michael Witney.
