Mayer jokes at concert about rumors

ST. LOUIS, July 5 (UPI) -- U.S. singer John Mayer took time during a concert in St. Louis to joke about Internet rumors about his personal life.

The "Your Body is a Wonderland" star joked with audience members about the litany of online rumors about his relationship with actress Jennifer Aniston, People magazine reported Friday.

"(Fans) send me links from People," Mayer said during Thursday's concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. "That just tempts me to say things."

The singer, who has been accompanied on his tour by the "Friends" actress, then offered several unusual rumors ranging from his love of the color green to his attempts to build a time machine.

"When I was a child I would kill small animals and wear their teeth as necklaces," the singer joked. "True. Print that. And I've always felt deep down that I was born a woman."

People said while Aniston was in attendance during the most recent stop on the musical tour, the actress was nowhere to be seen during Mayer's performance.
