The 17-year-old, who attends Southwest High School in Minneapolis, said the video clip called "Dancing" has been watched on YouTube an estimate 4 million times and her accompanying song has gained instant notoriety, the Star Tribune in Minneapolis reported Friday.
Siddique said her song "Praan," which means "life" in Bengali, has already reached the top 100 of all Amazon music downloads, surpassing many notable pop stars.
"It's up over Madonna and Mariah Carey," the teenager said.
Siddique said the video, which shows a man dancing with people from all around the world, has a deeper message when seen in context with her music.
"It seemed kind of silly," she told the Star Tribune of the video. "But when it came together with the music, it does convey a message that we are all the same. That struck me, and that's what's touching so many people."
