O'Neal pleads guilty to disorderly conduct

NEW YORK, July 2 (UPI) -- Actress Tatum O'Neal has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a New York court in her recent drug arrest, TMZ.com said Wednesday.

O'Neal, who won an Oscar as a child for her work in the film "Paper Moon," now co-stars on the TV series "Rescue Me." She has spoken candidly about her battles with alcohol and drug addiction throughout the years.

The actress was arrested last month allegedly attempting to buy crack cocaine from a vagrant on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

TMZ.com reported that a Manhattan judge told O'Neal Wednesday the case would be dismissed Sept. 4 if she spends two half-day sessions in a drug treatment program and pays a $95 fee.

Doctor: Jolie's twins not born yet

NICE, France, July 2 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie hasn't given birth to her twins yet, Dr. Michel Sussman said Wednesday at a press conference at a French Riviera hospital.

Asked when Jolie is expected to give birth to her fifth and sixth children, Usmagazine.com said Sussman, the actress' obstetrician, told reporters, "In the weeks to come."

Jolie was transported to the hospital, where she reserved four rooms in the maternity ward, by helicopter Sunday, the newspaper Nice Matin reported.

Brad Pitt, Jolie's actor boyfriend and the father of her twins, was photographed early Wednesday at the hospital, Usmagazine.com said. Pitt and Jolie already have a 2-year-old biological daughter and three other adopted children.

"Everything is normal," People.com quoted Sussman as saying in French at the news conference regarding Jolie's recent hospitalization. He then reportedly added in English, "She is very well, and she's OK."

"It is simply a visit of surveillance, no birth. Brad and Angie want everyone to know that everything is going well," Sussman explained. "She will stay in the hospital until the birth. I will stay with her."

Missing 'Metropolis' footage discovered

HAMBURG, Germany, July 2 (UPI) -- The latest edition of Germany's Die Zeit magazine shows details of scenes that have long been missing from Fritz Lang's classic 1927 silent film "Metropolis."

In its issue out Thursday, the magazine reports exclusively about how the footage was tracked down in the archive of the Cinema Museum in Buenos Aires. The magazine also offers details of scenes long considered lost.

The publication said Rainer Rother, artistic director of the Deutsche Kinemathek Museum in Berlin, examined the footage and verified its authenticity.

"'Metropolis,' Fritz Lang's most famous film, can be seen through new eyes," Rother is quoted as saying, adding that the new footage is a "sensational discovery."

Professor Martin Koerber, who restored the most recent version of "Metropolis," also examined the lost scenes and confirmed their authenticity.

"No matter how bad the condition of the material may be, the original intention of the film, including all of its minor characters and subplots, is now once again tangible for the normal viewer. The rhythm of the film has been restored," Koerber told the magazine.

Report: Madonna, Ritchie dine out in NYC

NEW YORK, July 2 (UPI) -- Madonna and Guy Ritchie reportedly were spotted holding hands as they dined out in New York, despite persistent rumors they are planning to divorce.

People.com said the celebrity couple were seen holding hands when they arrived at and departed 'Cesca, an Italian eatery in Manhattan, Tuesday night.

One witness told the entertainment news Web site the pop star and her filmmaker husband seemed "like a normal couple that just wanted to have a nice dinner out."

"They looked very unassuming. Not like they were looking for attention," the observer said. "Everyone was whispering and saying: 'Wow, that was Madonna. She is supposed to be separating from her husband. I can't believe she is here.'"

Madonna's spokeswoman issued a statement Tuesday insisting there are "no plans" for the pair to split up, contrary to reports claiming the couple has been consulting divorce attorneys.
