

NEW YORK, June 27 (UPI) -- Stand-up comedian and television personality Bob Saget is to be roasted in a new special to be taped in Los Angeles, Comedy Central has announced.
The show is to air Aug. 17 on the network.
"Bob Saget is one of the true nice guys. I've apologized to him in advance for what this evening holds in store for him," Comedy Central's Elizabeth Porter said in a statement Thursday.
Saget is best known for his starring role as Danny Tanner on the classic sit-com "Full House" and for his eight-year stint as host of "America's Funniest Home Videos."
He is also a popular performer on the stand-up comedy circuit, has appeared in TV comedy specials, as well as in the Broadway musical "The Drowsy Chaperone," has acted as host of the game show "1 vs. 100" and narrates the sit-com "How I Met Your Mother."
