NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- Raffaello Follieri, actress Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend, is to remain in a New York jail until he raises the $21 million bail set this week by a judge.
People.com said after Follieri meets his bail obligations he will be confined to his home, checked by an electronic monitoring device and allowed to leave only for medical, legal or religious reasons.
The Italian businessman was arrested and charged this week with wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering in connection with his business dealings.
As of Thursday afternoon, Follieri was still a guest of New York's Metropolitan Correctional Center, People.com said.
"We're working on putting the bail together," his attorney Flora Edwards told the entertainment news Web site.
Hathaway, who reportedly ended her four-year relationship with Follieri this month, has been traveling all over the world promoting her new action-comedy "Get Smart."
