LOS ANGELES, June 25 (UPI) -- U.S. actress and singer Hilary Duff reportedly has joined the cast of the big-screen comedy "Stay Cool," co-starring Winona Ryder, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer.

Mark Polish and Sean Astin are also part of the ensemble of the film, which has been described as a "knowing-your-age comedy," The Hollywood Reporter said.

The movie is to begin shooting next month in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Mark and Michael Polish co-wrote the script for and are producing the film, while Michael is to direct it, the entertainment industry trade paper said. The identical twin brothers have previously collaborated on "Twin Falls Idaho" and "The Astronaut Farmer."

Duff is best known for her teen role on TV's "Lizzie McGuire." She has also appeared in the movies "Material Girls" and "War, Inc."
