'Roseanne' co-star Metcalf to return to TV

LOS ANGELES, June 24 (UPI) -- U.S. stage and television actress Laurie Metcalf is set to star in "Easy Money," a new drama for The CW network.

Metcalf is best known for playing the title character's sister, Jackie, on the classic sit-com "Roseanne." She was recently seen in the film "Stop-Loss" and was nominated for a Tony Award for her work in the Broadway play "November."

The Hollywood Reporter said Metcalf will play the matriarch of a family of loan sharks in her new TV series, which was penned by "The Sopranos" scribes Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider.
