Rapper DMX arrested in Florida

MIAMI, June 24 (UPI) -- Earl Simmons, the hip-hop star known as DMX, has been arrested in Florida on a warrant for not having a valid driver's license, Miami-Dade police said.

The Miami Herald reported the 37-year-old rapper and actor was held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Monday afternoon and his bond was set at $500.

Simmons is also awaiting trial on drug and animal cruelty charges in Arizona after police raided his home and allegedly found 12 neglected pit bulls. He has pleaded not guilty in that case, the newspaper said.
