Westlife's cover of Extreme's "More Than Words" was No. 3 on the list, the BBC said.
On the other end of the spectrum, Total Guitar named Jimi Hendrix's cover of the Bob Dylan song "All Along the Watchtower" as the most successful cover song of all time.
Also ranking high on the list were The Beatles's version of the Top Notes' "Twist and Shout," followed by the Guns N' Roses edition of Wings' "Live and Let Die," which came in at No. 3.
