Glover is best known for his roles in the four "Lethal Weapon" movies.

He is to speak on the topic of raising the quality of public education at Tuesday's event at the New Orleans Convention Center.

Also slated to speak at the conference are Louisiana Education Superintendent Paul Pastorek; Nelson Smith, president of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools; and Albert J. Browne, Verizon Foundation's vice president of education and technology.

An estimated 3,000 participants are attending the eighth annual conference, which is expected to feature more than 150 sessions on charter school movement issues and more than 200 education exhibitors, organizers said.
