BEIJING, June 21 (UPI) -- The movie "Kung Fu Panda" should be banned in China for director Steven Spielberg's decision not to be involved with the Beijing Olympic Games, protesters say.

Nationalist Chinese protesters have created a petition calling for a ban on the animated U.S. film in direct response for Spielberg's decision not to serve as artistic adviser for the Olympic Games' opening ceremony, the Daily Mail reported Saturday.

In addition to targeting Spielberg, whose DreamWorks studio created "Panda," the petition to China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television criticizes U.S. actress Sharon Stone, who recently made controversial comments about China after it suffered a devastating earthquake.

"Hollywood is the type of place which affectionately applauds the arrogance, hypocrisy and vile nature of Sharon Stone," the petition reads. "Only in an amoral place like Hollywood could Sharon Stone win popularity through her ethical failings."

The Mail said Spielberg decided not to take part in the Beijing Games as a demonstration against Chinese officials' support of their Sudanese counterparts, who have been accused of committing war crimes in Darfur.
