LONDON, June 20 (UPI) -- Naomi Campbell reportedly is expected to be sentenced to community service after she pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer at London's Heathrow Airport.
The supermodel was removed from a British Airways plane April 3 after she verbally abused staff, screamed and swore because one of her checked bags had gone missing.
The Times of London said Campbell pleaded guilty Friday in a London court to kicking and spitting at police officers who escorted her off of the plane after she demanded the captain go look for her suitcase, holding up the Los Angeles-bound flight for nearly an hour as the captain and crew tried to explain Campbell's options to her and calm her down.
When the flight crew finally called police to get her off the plane, Campbell accused them of treating her poorly because she is black, the newspaper said.
She pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of assaulting a police officer, one count of disorderly conduct likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and using threatening, abusive words or behavior towards the cabin crew.
Although she faced jail time in the incident, Campbell was told by magistrates she would likely be sentenced to community service instead, the Times said.
