'Cry-Baby' set to close on Broadway

NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- The 1950s-set stage musical "Cry-Baby" reportedly is slated to close on Broadway later this month.

Playbill.com said "Cry-Baby," a Tony Award nominee based on a movie by "Hairspray" filmmaker John Waters, is to play its final performance June 22.

It will have played 45 previews and 68 regular performances by the time it closes.

A national tour is expected to begin in the fall of 2009, Playbill.com said.
