Jamie Kennedy joins 'Whisperer' cast

LOS ANGELES, June 17 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor and comedian Jamie Kennedy is joining the cast of the supernatural television drama "Ghost Whisperer," CBS has announced.

Kennedy will play Eli, a graduate student in psychology, who forms a bond with the show's main character Melinda, a woman who acts as an intermediary between the living and the dead. Melinda is played by Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Kennedy's television credits include "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" and "Criminal Minds." He has also starred in the "Scream" films, "Son of the Mask" and "Malibu's Most Wanted."
