Ledger's family to go to 'Knight' premiere

NEW YORK, June 16 (UPI) -- The Australian entertainment company Village Roadshow said Heath Ledger's family plans to attend the premiere of the late actor's movie "The Dark Knight."

The company told People.com Ledger's relatives are to travel from Perth, Australia, to attend the July 14 premiere of the Batman sequel in New York.

Ledger, who died in New York in January from a lethal combination of prescription drugs at the age of 28, plays the villainous Joker in "The Dark Knight."

A Village Roadshow representative told People.com, "the family is happy" to confirm the news of their attendance.
