FRANKLIN, Tenn., June 15 (UPI) -- Country music star Sara Evans was married Saturday at an outdoor ceremony in Franklin, Tenn., an exclusive media report said.

People magazine reported the 37-year-old singer married former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker in an intimate ceremony near her farm.

The only attendees were the "Born to Fly" singer's three children and four children Barker had in a previous marriage.

While Christian minister Joe Beam performed the ceremony, Nashville songwriter Marcus Hummon was on hand to sing "God Bless the Broken Road" for the happy couple.

The couple said the song, written by Hummon and performed by the country music group Rascal Flatts, is deeply meaningful to their relationship.

Evans told People Beam was the person who first brought the couple together after each was struggling to recover from a divorce.

"He was our own personal matchmaker," Evans told the magazine. "I think God told Joe to get us together."
