Daniel Craig cuts finger on Bond set

LONDON, June 12 (UPI) -- British actor Daniel Craig was taken to the hospital after he sliced open a finger doing an action scene, a spokeswoman for the new James Bond adventure said.

The BBC said Craig received treatment for a hand injury sustained Tuesday while he was shooting a scene at Buckinghamshire's Pinewood Studios.

The medical attention was "a precautionary measure" and Craig was back to work later in the day, the report said.

A publicist for Eon, the film's production company, also confirmed to the BBC that the actor was treated for a facial injury last week.

"Quantum of Solace" is to be released Oct. 31 in U.K. theaters.
