LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) -- Freestyle Releasing has announced it has acquired the U.S. rights to "The Haunting of Molly Hartley," a suspense thriller set for release this Halloween.

The movie stars Chace Crawford of "Gossip Girl," Haley Bennett from "Music and Lyrics," Jake Weber of "Medium," AnnaLynne McCord from "90210" and Shannon Marie Woodward of "The Riches."

Mickey Liddell -- producer of "Go" and "The Broken Hearts Club," as well as the TV shows "Everwood" and "Jack & Bobby" -- directed "The Haunting of Molly Hartley," a movie about Molly Hartley (played by Bennett), the new girl in town "whose frightening past begins haunting her every move."

"While Joseph (played by Crawford) shows her the ropes at school, Molly uncovers the truth about who she really is and what she might become," Freestyle said.

"We are excited to be working with Freestyle. Our goal has always been to go the independent route, and they are a great fit," Susan Jackson, co-president of Freestyle Releasing, said in a statement.
