'A Chorus Line' to close on Broadway

NEW YORK, June 4 (UPI) -- The Broadway revival of the musical "A Chorus Line" reportedly is scheduled to close in New York this August.

The show, which opened to good reviews Oct. 5, 2006, will have played 759 performances by the time it shuts down Aug. 17, Variety.com said.

Although the musical recouped its $8 million investment in 19 weeks, ticket sales have dropped in its second year with attendance in the 60 percent range in recent weeks, the entertainment industry trade paper said.
