CANNES, France, June 2 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Angelina Jolie says she was happy to lend her voice to a character in "Kung Fu Panda" because the new animated movie celebrates individuality.

Jolie, who is pregnant with her fifth and sixth children, told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival last month that like "Dumbo," one of her favorite films as a child, "Panda" shows that what makes people different is what makes them special.

"('Panda') has that same message of whatever is unique about you is you, embrace it and don't try to be somebody else," Jolie said. "Our eldest three (children) have seen the film and they loved it very much, which is a huge thing because they are my biggest critics. ... But the truth is, I think I would have done this film even if I didn't have children because I think the message is great and I had so much fun doing it. But it is a real pleasure as a mom to be able to bring your kids to a film that you also really feel is a good film."

She called it "a classic tale and it's beautiful and it's got a lot of nice moral messages to it."
