Depp, 'Transformers' win MTV Movie Awards

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., June 2 (UPI) -- Johnny Depp won two prizes and "Transformers" was named Best Movie at the "2008 MTV Movie Awards" presentation in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Depp won the awards for Best Comedic Performance in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and for Best Villain for "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street."

The prize for Best Male Performance went to Will Smith for his role in "I Am Legend," while the golden popcorn statuette for Best Female Performance went to Ellen Page for "Juno."

Zac Efron took home the award for Breakthrough Performance for his work in "Hairspray."

Sean Faris and Cam Gigandet won the Best Fight honor for their battle in "Never Back Down" and Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman won the trophy for Best Kiss for their smooch in "Step Up 2: The Streets."

"Iron Man" won the award for Best Summer Movie So Far and Tom Cruise presented Adam Sandler with the MTV Generation Award for his body of work.
