LONDON, May 29 (UPI) -- An lawyer for Naomi Campbell said the British supermodel has been charged with the alleged assault of a police officer at England's Heathrow Airport.

Lawyer Simon Nicholls told The Sun Campbell has been ordered to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court in West London June 20.

Campbell was informed she would be charged in a bail appearance at Heathrow police station Thursday morning, the newspaper said.

The supermodel was arrested last month following a ruckus she allegedly caused on a Los Angeles-bound airplane after she boarded and was told one of her checked bags was missing.

Campbell allegedly verbally abused flight attendants and was removed from the plane by police.

The alleged assault took place as she was being escorted off of the plane, The Sun said.
