WASHINGTON, May 29 (UPI) -- Celebrity couple Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy are planning to help lead a Green Our Vaccines march and rally in Washington, organizers said.

While Carrey and McCarthy have said they support immunization, they also feel children are receiving too many vaccines, too soon. Their goal is to demand a safer vaccine supply and schedule for children, representatives for the event said Thursday.

McCarthy, who is the author of the book "Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism," and her partner, actor Jim Carrey, are expected to join forces with national autism advocacy organizations and families from throughout the United States for the June 4 Green Our Vaccines march, rally and press conference.

The event is part of a campaign to eliminate toxins from children's vaccines and encourage national health agencies to reassess mandatory vaccine schedules.

Sponsors and volunteers of the rally include Generation Rescue, HEAL, Moms Against Mercury and TACA.

More than 35 other autism and environmental groups have also signed on showing their support for the event, organizers said.
