'Beverly Hills Cop 4' set for 2010 release

LOS ANGELES, May 29 (UPI) -- Hollywood's Paramount Pictures reportedly is planning to release a fourth installment in the blockbuster "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise in 2010.

Variety.com said Eddie Murphy, the star of the first three films, is onboard to reprise his role of out-of-place Detroit detective Axel Foley, while Brett Ratner is in talks to direct the new episode.

The entertainment industry trade paper said Paramount is hoping to start shooting the sequel next year and to release the movie in theaters in 2010.

"Beverly Hills Cop III" was released in 1994.
