LOS ANGELES, May 21 (UPI) -- U.S. recording artist Janet Jackson is planning her first North American concert tour in more than seven years, Live Nation confirmed Wednesday.

The singer, who has sold more than 100 million albums, announced plans for her Rock Witchu tour on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Monday.

Live Nation, which is producing the tour, said the concert series is to kick off in Vancouver, B.C., on Sept. 10. It will include dates in Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Montreal and Toronto and hit major markets as it travels across the United States. More dates are to be announced shortly, Live Nation said.
