LOS ANGELES, May 15 (UPI) -- A spokesman for Shania Twain has confirmed the country music star and her husband are breaking up.

"Shania Twain and husband, music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage," Twain's representative Jason Owen said in a statement issued to People magazine.

"This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."

Twain and Lange married just six months after they met. They are the parents of a 6-year-old son, Eja D'Angelo, People.com said.
