CLEARWATER, Fla., May 10 (UPI) -- Nick Bollea, the 17-year-old son of former wrestling star Hulk Hogan, is to spend eight months in jail for his role in a car crash, a Florida judge has ruled.

Pinellas County Circuit Judge Philip Federico ruled that Bollea will serve eight months in the county jail and five years probation, after Bollea pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times said Saturday.

The charge was from an Aug. 26, 2007, crash in Clearwater, Fla., when Bollea lost control of his car and crashed into a palm tree. His passenger at the time, John Graziano, suffered critical injuries in the accident and had to have a large part of his skull removed due to a brain injury.

Graziano's father, Ed, said after Federico's ruling Friday that he was still not convinced Bollea is truly repentant.

"I felt like the statements he made were a bunch of bulls--- and that's what saved his a--, because the judge had regrets for what he does and that's a total lie," he told the Times.
