No jail time for Foxy in BlackBerry case

NEW YORK, May 9 (UPI) -- Rapper Foxy Brown, as part of a plea deal, reportedly has apologized in Brooklyn Supreme Court to a woman she is accused of assaulting with a BlackBerry.

The New York Daily News said Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, won't have to serve any time in jail after she agreed to sign the apology.

"To whom it may concern," the statement said. "I apologize for the incident that occurred on July 31, 2007, in that I attempted to scare Arlene Raymond and place her in harm's way."

"They knew this was a weak case," the Post said Marchand told reporters after the court hearing.

The recording artist recently finished a sentencein jail on Rikers Island for violating probation in another case.

"I did my time, held my head high and now I'll do what I do best -- make great music," she said.
