LONDON, May 7 (UPI) -- Canadian actress Ellen Page has been cast as the heroine in the latest big-screen adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's classic British romance "Jane Eyre."

Variety.com said the producers plan to start shooting the BBC Films project this fall.

"Jane Eyre" is about a 19th-century nanny who falls in love with her employer, a wealthy, moody man hiding a terrible secret.
