Madonna's 'Candy' tops U.S. album chart

LOS ANGELES, May 7 (UPI) -- Madonna's latest CD "Hard Candy" is No. 1 on the U.S. album chart, Billboard.com reported Wednesday.

This marks the pop star's seventh chart-topping album.

Coming in at No. 2 on the The Billboard 200 is Mariah Carey's "E=MC2," followed by Leona Lewis' "Spirit" at No. 3, Lyfe Jennings' "Lyfe Change" at No. 4 and Def Leppard's "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top 10 are The Roots's "Rising Down" at No. 6, Portishead's "Third" at No. 7, the self-titled CD of Tom Petty's side project Mudcrutch at No. 8, the compilation disc "Now 27" at No. 9 and Tim McGraw's "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 and 2" at No. 10.
