The Jonas Brothers celebrate the end of their American concert tour in New York

BURBANK, Calif., May 6 (UPI) -- The Jonas Brothers pop band are to star in a digital 3-D feature movie set to hit U.S. theaters next year, Walt Disney Studios said.

The movie will include footage from the band's upcoming "Burning Up" concert tour, it was announced Tuesday by Oren Aviv, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production.

The film will also feature documentary material offering fans a glimpse into the lives and careers of Jonas brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick.

Bruce Hendricks, who directed Disney's hit 3-D motion picture "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," will also direct the Jonas Brothers project.

"We can't wait to start working on this film for our fans," the Jonas Brothers said in a statement. "It's going to be awesome and we really want to bring a totally unique and different movie experience to everyone whether they've seen us live or not."

"We're very excited to be bringing the incredibly talented Jonas Brothers to their legions of fans around the world with this exciting big-screen digital 3-D feature," Aviv added. "This film will take moviegoers inside the band's creative process, and present them in a very intimate and entertaining way."
