NEW YORK, May 5 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Sarah Jessica Parker said she was eager to revisit the world of "Sex and the City" -- just not on the small screen.

A film version of the popular TV comedy is set for release in U.S. theaters May 30.

"Sex" veteran Michael Patrick King wrote, directed and produced the movie, which features original "Sex" stars Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

Asked why the team decided to make a film instead of simply doing another season of the show, Parker, who also produced the movie, told reporters in New York Sunday: "I don't think Michael and I wanted to come back in series form. Our personal lives were different. I have a son ... that still really likes (me and his father Matthew Broderick) and wants us around. Now is not the time for me to leave him and a movie is a finite period of time and so, lo and behold, two years later here we are."

Parker said she doesn't want to speculate about whether there might be a second "Sex" movie.

"Getting to this point has been the sole professional focus of my life for the last two years," she said. "We cannot believe this dream has come true. So, to think beyond this, is greedy."
