Cyrus passing on Disney media party

ORLANDO, Fla., May 1 (UPI) -- The Disney Channel said Thursday that TV star and pop singer Miley Cyrus will not attend a network media party in Orlando, Fla.

E! Online said Cyrus, 15, had been expected to attend the event Friday, which would have marked her first public appearance since she made headlines for being the subject of a controversial photo shoot for Vanity Fair magazine.

The entertainment news Web site said Disney offered no further comment on the scheduling change.

A Disney representative told E! Online, however, that Cyrus is still "100 percent performing on Saturday night at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando."

"The concert will be televised this summer as part of the special-event series," the representative said.
