PARIS, April 26 (UPI) -- French movies or co-productions represent the bulk of the Cannes Film Festival's 40th Directors' Fortnight this year, festival officials said.
Of the 22 movies being featured in the Fortnight event, festival officials said Friday that 12 were made in France or involved France, Variety reported.
Among the French productions to be shown during the directorial event are "Les Bureaux de Dieu" and "De la guerre." Some of the French co-productions scheduled include the Philippines-France film "Now Showing" and the Belgium-France production "Eldorado."
The event will only include one U.S.movie, "The Pleasure of Being Robbed" from director Josh Safdie. Spain and Latin America have five films apiece tabbed to run at the Fortnight.
Variety said cinematic event starts May 15 and runs through May 25.
