LIMONE SUL GARDA, Italy, April 24 (UPI) -- A stunt driver was seriously injured in the crash of James Bond's Alfa Romeo on the northern Italy set of "Quantum of Solace."
Daniel Craig stand-in, Aris Cominos, lost control of the auto during a chase sequence on a "notoriously windy road" near Lake Gardna in Limone sul Garda, the BBC reported Thursday.
Cominos was flown by helicopter to a Verona hospital where he underwent surgery for undisclosed injuries.
It was the second accident in recent days involving a sports car on the Agent 007 set.
An Aston Martin wound up in the lake during filming in driving rain Sunday. There were no serious injuries in that incident.
A spokeswoman for the film told the BBC filming has been suspended while the latest crash is investigated.
The latest installment of Bond adventures is a follow-up to Craig's 2006 hit, "Casino Royale." It is scheduled to hit British cinemas on Oct. 31.
