SPOKANE, Wash., April 23 (UPI) -- Former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow was hospitalized in satisfactory condition with an undisclosed ailment in Spokane, Wash., Wednesday.

Snow was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center Tuesday -- one day after telling a radio interviewer he had been undergoing cancer treatment that was "not all that rough," KXLY-TV, Spokane, reported Wednesday.

A nursing supervisor told the TV news Snow was "doing well" about 24 hours after being admitted.

The former Fox TV newsman recently hired by CNN had his cancerous colon removed in 2005. He announced after surgery last year the cancer had returned.

Snow said Monday he was taking daily medication and undergoing chemotherapy every three weeks.

Snow was hospitalized Tuesday just hours before he was scheduled for a public lecture at Eastern Washington University, KXLY reported. The reason for the hospitalization was not revealed.
