LONDON, April 22 (UPI) -- Scottish actor Ewan McGregor said one of several moles removed by his doctor was cancerous, but he's "fine" now.

McGregor, 37, told the BBC the cancerous mole was just below his right eye. His doctor referred him to a specialist during a routine checkup, he said.

"I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed, and indeed he was correct," he said.

McGregor has three daughters with his wife, French production designer Eve Mavrakis.

The star promoting his film "Deception" said the surgery was "not that big of a deal," the BBC said.
