The entertainment news Web site quoted a source as saying the elder Diaz's death came as quite a shock as he had been in "terrific health" before he was struck down with the flu, which then progressed into pneumonia.
An insider on the set where Cameron Diaz is working on her new film "My Sister's Keeper" said production on the movie was halted Tuesday.
TMZ.com said a representative for the actress did not respond to its request for comment on the story.
