NEW YORK, April 11 (UPI) -- Rap star Foxy Brown is scheduled to leave New York's Rikers Island prison at the end of next week, TMZ.com reported Friday.

She will have been behind bars for eight months.

Sources told the entertainment news Web site Brown has recently been "happy and in control."

Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was in jail for violating the terms of her probation in connection with a case in which she assaulted two Manhattan manicurists in an argument regarding payment for services rendered.
