LONDON, April 9 (UPI) -- British rock star Pete Doherty reportedly has begun a 14-week prison sentence in London for violating his bail conditions.

The Babyshambles frontman, 29, was sentenced last year to 14 months in jail on drug charges, but the sentence was suspended after he promised to clean up his act.

Sky News said the court lost patience with Doherty's efforts to do so and sentenced him to 14 weeks in prison Tuesday.

Sky News did not specify how Doherty broke the conditions of his bail. However, he has reportedly continued to use drugs.
