RINGO STARR PERFORMS IN CONCERT

LIVERPOOL, England, April 8 (UPI) -- Not long after rock 'n' roll icon Ringo Starr said he missed nothing about Liverpool, England, a topiary shaped in his likeness was decapitated in the city.

Life-size shrubbery figures of the Beatles, Liverpool natives, were installed at the Liverpool South Parkway

station several weeks ago. The topiary Starr was beheaded by an unidentified vandal last weekend, the Liverpool Daily Post said Tuesday.

Starr's band mates' topiaries were not damaged.

Merseytravel told the newspaper that video footage taken by security cameras is being studied by the company and British Transport Police in an effort to find the culprit.

Starr angered some Liverpool residents recently when he said he didn't miss the city after he helped open the European Capital of Culture events there earlier this year, the Post said.
