Orlando Bloom to star in 3rd film trilogy

NEW YORK, April 8 (UPI) -- British actor Orlando Bloom reportedly has been cast in Disney's big-screen adaptation of the "Prince of Persia" video game.

The New York Post said Bloom is to play the lead in a trilogy of films based on the game, as part of a deal said to be worth about $40 million. The "Prince" movies are to be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Bloom is best known for his roles in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "The Lord of the Rings" blockbuster trilogies.
