GOTHENBURG, Sweden, April 6 (UPI) -- An Iranian-born filmmaker living in Sweden has offered $34,000 to anyone who can help him land any permanent job in the media profession.

Filmmaker Shahram Afsar said the exclusivity of the filmmaking profession has prevented him from making headway in career, forcing him to take extreme action, The Local reported Sunday.

"Employers choose their friends within their network. It is almost impossible to get into this profession with the wrong name," Afsar said.

Afsar, who moved to Sweden from Iran in 1986, posted his advertisement in several Swedish newspapers and on the Web site Klubb Resume.

He said the money offer could potentially help him in an industry where immigrants occasionally are overlooked, the Local said.

"If you have an immigrant name it is hard to gain the confidence of employers. And almost impossible to get a job," Afsar told the Swedish newspaper.
