BBC to make Bible miniseries

LONDON, April 4 (UPI) -- The British Broadcasting Corp. confirms it is planning to make a six-part miniseries based on well-known stories from the Bible.

The international co-production is to air next year and will feature a blend of live-action performances and computer-generated imagery, the BBC said.

The BBC said approximately 4 million people tuned in to watch its Easter presentation of "The Passion," a drama starring Joseph Mawle as Jesus in a retelling of the New Testament story of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
