LOS ANGELES, April 3 (UPI) -- Ramiele Malubay, a 20-year-old contestant from Miramar, Fla., was voted off of the U.S. singing competition television series "American Idol" Wednesday night.

Malubay was eliminated from the competition after she performed Dolly Parton's "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind."

People.com said judge Randy Jackson told her about her performance, "I wasn't jumping up and down but I wasn't mad at you either."

Simon Cowell added: "It was cute, you sang it quite well. (But) overall, I thought it was forgettable."

Malubay wept upon hearing she had been booted off the show.

EW.com quoted her as saying, "We throw everything we have into this thing -- here at 'American Idol.'"

Her fellow "Idol" wannabe David Cook was back on the show after he had been taken to the hospital the night before with heart palpitations and high blood pressure.

"The whole thing kinda got blown out of proportion," Usmagazine.com quoted Cook as saying. "I have high blood pressure, and it spiked so they took me there as a precaution, but I'm cool. I'm not going anywhere!"
