UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., April 1 (UPI) -- Several thousand items from the U.S. daytime TV drama "Passions" are going up for sale at a two-day event in Studio City, Calif., organizers said.

A wide variety of set decorations, clothing, furniture, glassware and household items from the show are to be made available to the public.

The sale, which is a collaboration between Universal Media Studios and Premiere Props, is to take place at the CBS Radford studio lot in Studio City this Saturday and Sunday.

A portion of the proceeds from the estate sale will go to benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation, a charitable organization that aims to raise awareness and funds for critical health, educational and social issues.

"We are excited to offer the fans of 'Passions' an opportunity to own a piece of their favorite show," Stacey Ward, director of the NBC Universal Television DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group, said in a statement. "At the same time, we look forward to working with Premiere Props on this event, as well as other opportunities in the future."

"Passions" is to end its nine-year run this August on DIRECTV's original entertainment channel, The 10.
