HOUSTON, April 1 (UPI) -- Tejano music star Emilio Navaira, who smashed his tour bus in Texas, has been successfully treated for a pseudoaneurysm in his right lung, his doctors say.

Navaira was thrown through the windshield when his bus crashed March 23.

The Houston Chronicle said the recording artist was still in critical condition after doctors at Memorial Hermann Hospital repaired a rupture in his lung Monday.

Navaira's recovery is expected to be slow, the Chronicle quoted doctors as saying.

The singer also has undergone two operations to treat his head injuries.
