Madonna: NYC no longer feels 'alive'

NEW YORK, March 31 (UPI) -- Pop star Madonna said in an interview with Vanity Fair that she doesn't find New York City as exciting as she did when she was coming up 20 years ago.

The New York Post said her interview accompanies a sexy photo spread.

"(New York City is) not the same place it used to be," Madonna, who now lives in London, told Vanity Fair. "It still has great energy. I still put my finger in the socket. But it doesn't feel alive, cracking with that synergy between the art world and music world and fashion world that was happening in the 1980s."

The renowned singer also said her ever-changing image has nothing to do with what others say about her.

"You have to get to a point where you care as little about getting smoke blown up you're a-- as you do when you become a whipping boy in the press, because ultimately they both add up to s---," she said.
